Academic conference on "Labor relations: New generation challenges and solutions – 2026" held

The inaugural academic conference titled “Labor Relations: New Generation Challenges and Solutions – 2026” was organized in honor of Legtseg Baasan, a Doctor of Juridical Science (Sc.D), Professor, former member of the Constitutional Court, and former Justice of the Supreme Court. Initiated by Otgontenger University as an annual tradition, the event was co-organized by the School of Law at the National University of Mongolia, the Secretariat of the State Great Khural, the Supreme Court of Mongolia, the Judicial Academy, the Constitutional Court of Mongolia, the Mongolian Bar Association, and the Association of Mongolian Advocates, with support from Professor Baasan’s family and students. The conference participants sought solutions to pressing issues such as the judicial and pre-trial resolution of labor disputes, the legal status of workers in the digital economy, the legal consequences of labor contract durations, and the specific impact of Artificial Intelligence on labor relations.

Several key presentations were delivered during the event, including a discussion by Dr. B. Dulguun, the Scientific Secretary of the Judicial Academy, on precedent-setting resolutions of the Supreme Court regarding labor dispute adjudication. Additionally, D. Byamba-Od, Head of the Civil Law Sector, and researcher A. Nemuulen presented on the legal regulations and judicial interpretation practices concerning labor contract terms, while Supreme Court researcher Z. Yanjinlham addressed the legal status of digital platform workers.

The conference concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Dr. D. Erdenechimeg, Director of the Judicial Academy, featuring insights from Supreme Court Justice N. Batzorig, Dr. S. Bolormaa of the NUM School of Law, Dr. B. Dulguun, M. Munkhbat of the Mongolian Bar Association, and L. Buddorj of the Notary Chamber of Mongolia on the evolving challenges and solutions within the labor market.
