On June 4, 2024, during a regular session of the Great State Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, the final review of the draft law amending the Law on the Courts was conducted. A key point of discussion was the restructuring of the Judicial Training, Research, and Information Center to align its legal status and system with those of similar judicial training institutions abroad. The majority of the members in attendance expressed strong support for the transformation of the Center into a Judicial Academy. According to the amendments made to the Law on the Courts of Mongolia, which will take effect on July 1, 2024, the Judicial Training, Research, and Information Center will officially operate as the Judicial Academy from that date forward.

   The Academy's operational procedures have been updated to comply with the new provisions of the law. The Judicial Academy will focus on providing specialized judicial education and training for judges, as outlined in Article 24 of the Law on the Courts. In addition to its educational role, the Academy will conduct essential research to ensure uniformity in legal application, prepare summaries of judicial decisions, and provide vital legal information to the public.
