Training of trainer-judges in civil law was organized

The Judicial Academy of Mongolia, in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), organized an in-person training for trainer-judges specializing in civil law from June 2 to June 5, 2026.

The training was led by Mr. Rudolf Helmhagen, Chief Judge of the Court of Appeal in Passau, Bavaria, Federal Republic of Germany, under the topic "Pressing Issues in the Law of Obligations," covering the following contents: 

Certain grounds for termination of obligations: Statute of limitations, termination of contracts, and rescission of contracts;

Key considerations in resolving disputes arising from specific contractual relations: Insurance contracts, financial lease contracts, and fiduciary contracts;

Key considerations in resolving labor contract disputes: Pre-trial dispute resolution procedures for labor disputes, specific regulations on terminating fixed-term labor contracts, and collective dismissals;

Specific issues in tort law: Specifics of liability when multiple parties are involved.

This training was unique in that it went beyond reinforcing theoretical knowledge by facilitating interactive discussions and experience sharing on a wide range of topics, including statutory interpretation and application, judicial process and decision-making, judgment drafting and judicial logic, studying judicial practice, and utilizing data. A total of 14 civil law trainer-judges participated in the training.
