"STRENGTHENING ACTIVITIES TO FIGHT GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IN MONGOLIA" (2019-2023) PROJECT CLOSED

        The International Development Law Organization (IDLO) has successfully implemented and closed the project "Strengthening activities to fight gender-based violence in Mongolia" (2019-2023), funded by the Government of Canada. Director of the Judicial Training, Research and Information Institute D. Erdenechimeg (Doctor, Associate Professor) participated in the discussion of the project.

      The Judicial Training, Research and Information Institute, together with the project implementer, organized the training "Implementation of a victim-centered approach to fighting domestic violence" for a total of 36 judges of criminal and civil courts handling cases related to domestic violence.

        Also, jointly organized an activity to study the experiences of the province of Ontario, Canada, on the topic of "Exploring the best practices of Canada to learn about the family court and the specialized court for domestic violence in the context of activities to fight gender-based violence and domestic violence."

      The project aims to identify the difficulties faced by victims of gender-based violence in enjoying their rights, increase access to legal assistance for victims of domestic violence, deliver victim-centered services, and raise legal awareness among the Mongolian government and law enforcement. Also, it was implemented on a large scale with the participation of judicial authorities, professional associations of lawyers, universities and civil society organizations.
